Cancellation & Refund Policy
This policy applies to the advance amount you pay online when booking a venue on Venme. Please read it carefully before confirming your booking.
When you book a venue on Venme, the advance amount you pay online (normally 30% of the total booking value) is subject to the following rules.
Refunds are calculated only on the advance paid through Venme, not on the full booking amount:
- More than 30 days before the event date → 100% refund of the advance amount
- 15 to 30 days before the event date → 75% refund of the advance amount
- 7 to 14 days before the event date → 50% refund of the advance amount
- 3 to 6 days before the event date → 25% refund of the advance amount
- Less than 3 days before the event date → No refund (100% of the advance is forfeited)
All cancellations must be done through Venme (website or app). Cancellations made only by calling or messaging the venue are not considered valid unless also updated through Venme. The effective cancellation time will be the time Venme receives your cancellation request.
Where a refund is applicable, Venme will process the refund to your original payment method (UPI, card, net banking, etc.). Refunds are typically processed within 5–7 business days, but actual credit to your account may depend on your bank/payment provider. Any convenience fees or payment gateway charges, if shown separately at checkout, may be non‑refundable.
If the venue cancels your booking for operational reasons or due to genuine force‑majeure (such as government restrictions, fire, flood, etc.) and you are not at fault: You will receive a 100% refund of the advance paid through Venme. Venme is not responsible for any additional costs (e.g., travel, decor, third‑party vendors) you may have incurred outside Venme.
The remaining balance (for example, the other 70% of the booking amount) is paid directly to the venue by you, as per the venue's own terms and schedule. Any refunds or disputes related to the balance amount you pay directly to the venue are between you and the venue. Venme is not responsible for amounts paid outside the Venme platform. Some venues may have stricter internal policies (e.g., fully non‑refundable for certain peak dates). Where a venue‑specific policy is stricter than Venme's default, the venue's policy will apply and will be shown to you at the time of booking, if applicable.
If you do not show up for your event or fail to pay the required balance on time as agreed with the venue, it may be treated as a no‑show. In case of a no‑show, the advance is fully non‑refundable, and the venue may cancel the booking.
Requests to change the event date, time, or major details are subject to venue approval and availability. A change of date may be treated as a cancellation + new booking by some venues. In such cases, the original booking's cancellation policy will apply. Any additional charges or revised advance for changes will be communicated to you before confirming the change.
Venme may update this Cancellation & Refund Policy from time to time. The version applicable to your booking will be the version shown to you at the time of booking and accepted by you when you click "Confirm Booking".
